However, academic pursuits momentarily took precedence, causing Shabir to sideline badminton temporarily.

But true passion knows no bounds, and Shabir’s hiatus from badminton was short-lived. With renewed focus and determination, he returned to the court, reclaiming his form and dominating various championships at his club.

In 1986, Shabir ventured into the world of squash, a decision that would prove to be a game-changer. With relentless dedication and hard work, he quickly mastered the sport, garnering prestigious trophies and securing first-place finishes. His prowess on the court earned him the moniker of “powerful racket smasher,” a title that he wears with pride.

When asked about his success, Shabir humbly credits his father, an avid sportsman himself, for instilling in him a love for sports and a drive for excellence. Additionally, he acknowledges the role of a higher power, attributing his achievements to the blessings of Allah (SWT).

This one does it all. Shabir Dattu in the history of Canada was the first to top 116 ranking with professional squash associates.
